In the past week I've done major editing, cutting out scenes and expanding others, tying up loose ends.
But I've run into a problem: I realised that there are underdeveloped aspects. They're not plot holes, they can stand on their own, but expanding them has the potential to turn the fic from okay-ish to (dare I?) decent.
The problem? I don't really have the energy to develop them. I'm trying to finish the fic before New Year, and even without adding more scenes, I'm not sure I'll be able to reach that target.
... Goddammit, I was skimming through the draft while writing this and now I've got this idea for a scene that would illustrate the difference between past and present Adrian. Now I have to write it and figure out the pacing etc.etc.
Well, if it's worth doing, it's worth doing well. I've already spent almost 6 months, why not spend one more?
